Our goal is to help employees find reasonable housing so they can feel part of and contribute to our community.

We have two resource avenues for employees, renting through Landing Locals and purchasing through Hopkins Village Townhomes.

Through our Long-term Rental Pilot Program, we are able to secure homes for member agency employee use. Listings are advertised through our listing partner, Landing Locals, or through our
e-news (sign up through the listing alerts button below).

To apply for a rental home through Landing Locals:

  1. Complete a renter profile.

  2. View listings and apply directly through their website.

Home Purchase Funding Sources

  • Placer County Home Buyer Assistance Program

    The Workforce Housing Preservation Program is a homebuyer assistance program designed to secure our existing housing inventory for the local workforce. The program pays homebuyers up to 16% of purchase price towards a down payment (based on available funding) in exchange for deed restricting their home so that it can only be occupied by local workers.

  • Placer County First Time Homebuyer Assistance Program

    This program provides flexible second mortgages to help families purchase their first home in the unincorporated areas of Placer County. The First Time Homebuyer Assistance Program loan can help make mortgage payments more affordable. Loans are available on a first-come/first-serve basis for qualified applicants that meet the program requirements.

  • Martis Fund Homebuyer Assistance Program

    In partnership with the Martis Fund, Sierra Business Council administers the Martis Fund Homebuyer Assistance Program, which provides down payment assistance to help income-qualified working families in Placer County east of Donner Summit or in the Town of Truckee purchase homes.

    The HOME First-time Homebuyers' Program can provide down payment gap assistance to families who are first-time homebuyers. A first-time homebuyer is an individual who has not owned a principle residence during the three years prior to the purchase of the property with the HOME loan.

  • Area Median Income is the household income for the median — or middle — household in a region. The US Department of Urban Development (HUD) publishes this data annually for regions; data varies by household size. The California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) makes minor adjustments based on regional factors to these numbers prior to publishing.  

    For example, Nevada County AMI for family of four is $85,100 (2019) and Placer County AMI for family of four is $83,600 (2019).
